At CAKE, agentic workflows changed how we built software. NEO was the next step: bringing that way of working into a tool for restaurant operators.

Operators had sales, labor, and operational data, but still had to search reports and interpret the results before deciding what to do. The opportunity was to bring the relevant signal—and a useful next action—to them.

I expanded a six-tile request into Ask Anything, Insights, Conversation, and Reports: connected ways to question the business, surface exceptions, and act on what changed. I defined the experience and built a functional prototype in four weeks, using the same in-repo design approach we were growing across CAKE.

NEO app was shown at NRA 2025, and continues to evolve the most advanced backend projects at Mad Mobile. The prototype captured a shift already underway at CAKE: from using agents to help teams build products to designing agentic tools that help operators run their businesses.
